Prof Lonnie Strickland said: “Communication is what leaders do.  It is the essence of leadership.” When we think of leadership and communication, we often think of charismatic leaders like Nelson Mandela.  While recognizing their advanced communication skills, we should not overlook the vital role of communication in the day-to-day operations of organizations.  This is the skill that separates leaders from followers.  Unlike your singing voice, you don’t need to be born with a “communication-voice”.  You can cultivate it, and it is guaranteed to extend your influence as a leader.
