Spark Talks let the conservation sparks fly

The second LCA Spark Talks Live conservation talks took place on Thursday 15 November, 2018 with a line-up of speakers that inspired and motivated audiences from across the globe. It was made possible through sponsorship from Sabine Plattner Africa Charites [SPAC] and brought together audiences, youth, businesses and charities from various countries.

On the stage at Homebrew Films to share their passion for conservation were Dr Gus Mills, African Carnivore Specialist and Conservationist, Nelisiwe Vundla from WWF South Africa and USAID Southern Africa’s Khetha Program, Rivaldo Destorie from Changing Lives Through Nature, Leitha Mkhabela from The Black Mambas and a special feature on the Chumbe Island Coral Park in Zanzibar.

These inspiring speakers were not only joined live in studio by over 120 audience members but the event was also streamed live on Facebook to a global audience with followers in Germany, Norway, the USA, Zanzibar, France, Congo, India and many more countries watching. We were also joined remotely via Skype by the Academy for Environmental Leadership in Upington, The American International School of Cape Town, Chumbe Island Environmental Education centre in Zanzibar and honors students from the department of Zoology at the University of the Free State.
